Detailed Cutting Instructions
Cutting Tools
We suggest using any of the following to cut your foam:
- Dremel tool: use a straight grout bit with knurled teeth; to smooth contours,
select a ½" or ¼" sanding drum
- Rotary cutter or router: set to desired depth
- X-Acto Knife: Model # X7747 is for foam cutting and can be purchased online or
at art supply stores
- DREMEL VersaTip Model 1550 T2: use the hot knife point
Additional Cutting Method
The oven method is an easy way to outline the shapes of tools. Only use this method on tools without resin or rubberized parts.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Mark tool placement on foam
- Place tools on a standard cookie sheet and heat for 30 minutes
- Remove hot tools one at a time and place on pre-marked foam
- Tools will melt into foam about ¼" and create a detailed shape
- Cut shapes with an X-Acto knife
- You can also add finger holes to help get tools in and out with ease
